Music Video Monday

Thanks to Pastor Kevin for forwarding this awesome video to me! I've become a Johnny Cash fan over the last couple years, and I just love the gritty-ness of his songs and how he just tells it like it is.

He has a lot of songs that people didn't even know he sang. In our last church, a group of us did a bluegrass version of one of his gospel songs, called "The old account was settled long ago."

The jury's still out for me on Johnny Cash. After seeing his life story in the movie I just don't know. Interesting video though...that one guy looked like Chris Rock!

It is Chris Rock! The problem with the movie is that it cuts off so early. He lived a very long life after that too. His autobiography is awesome, and very cool to read about his thoughts on his faith and God. After reading the autobiography you realize how short the movie comes up.

I did enjoy the movie though...

I've been a fan of Johnny Cash for awhile. I loved the movie, but then I have read his autobiography as well. Amazing how God can change someone! Good video...I love seeing Chris Rock, Sheryl Crow, the Dixie Chicks, etc in the video.

Good 'ol Johnny. I have to admit my iPod is full of him :D I didn't like him at all when I was younger, but he grows on you - and not in a fungus sort of way...

I also did not like Johnny Cash when I was younger, but being married to Trent has made me a fan. He has every CD and anything that has to do with him catches Trent's interest immediately. Trent still hasn't seen the movie, though because he hates both Reese Witherspoon and Quachim (I totally spelt that wrong) Phoenix.

Johnny Cash has been a big part of my listening repetoir for years...comes from my father listening to his tunes all the time. My dh loves his music too...and well the songs just keep playing. Johnny persevered through the struggles and the addiction in his life...and tried to show others in his later life there is someone out there more powerful then us...and how great HE is.....God forgave this man of his sins so now who are we to judge on what he did in his past...his weakness ended up showing him a greater reward later on...
Love the vid Dags...and my Johnny Depp is in there too! Lookin' good
