Exhaustified

Haven't been writing too much lately, as there just doesn't seem to be enough time. The past few weeks have been a little hectic getting things ready for our Christmas program at the church, doing Christmas shopping, dealing with losing my power steering, and waiting for J and T's baby to arrive. The baby has arrived (check out the "boys, boys, boys" link to the right), my power steering got fixed (at no charge to me), most of my presents have been purchased, and the kid's program went great. I was a little worried at the dress rehearsal...kids were running everywhere, they were constantly running to the bathroom or going to get a drink, only one preschooler sang their group song (and by singing I mean crying loudly), and only about half the kids showed up. But of course they pulled it together for the program and were on their best behaviour since their parents, grandparents etc were in the audience. Rascals. I also had to deal with a child being bullied at kid's club this past week, which was a bit of a nightmare as I love the victim AND the bully so dearly! They were both crying, and I was on the verge of tears as I dealt with them too. I hope something like this never happens again. Now on Friday, I'll be heading home to Cold Lake for a week, with a short trip to North Battleford thrown in there for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I still have lots to do before then...get in a visit with the new baby, deliver a present for a friend's kids, finish my shopping, pack, and clean up a bit before I leave...hope I can get it all done in a day! I do think that the thing that will save me is the fact that Wal-Mart is currently open 24 hours til Christmas. Lunacy.

Well hopefully, I won't be there THAT late! Oh ya, I also have to fit in a school Christmas Concert to tonight...so at this point I'm going to scrap the gym today (doh!) and try to take most of the afternoon to get stuff done...let the race begin. Why do I have to be such a last minute person?

Hey thanks for commenting on my blog. It's so fun connect with people. That's crazy that you know Jim. He is the young adults pastor at my church in Kamloops and he and his wife are super good friends. I love how connected the Christian world is. Have a Merry Christmas!!!

How did the Walmart thing go? Did you find what you need? Every year I try to think of ways to make Christmas not so busy, and every year it ends up just as busy. What is a person to do?

I can totally empathize with you, and let me tell you, I'm glad the concerts are over. I had a different kind of "battle" between kids. A girl in my class has been getting bigger and bigger gifts from a boy in my class for a couple of years, and her big bro in Gr. 5 got mad at him on the last day of school. Yikes.
